@YankeeFan would never go so far as to predict a Trump victory, but he was dead nuts on about the flaws in her candidacy and some of the appeal of his.

I wish I could believe that. But I just don't.

It isn't easy to place on the left-right spectrum. It is closer to the left than libertarianism.

    I'm shocked.

    Pennsylvania? Really?

How the fuck did Mitt Romney lose, but Trump won?

The only answer is the appeal -- or lack there of -- of their opponent.

Don't know about the rest of you, but unless tony got the big thumb, I think he's shown a helluva lot of restraint.

The problem with that is that Mike Pence is a truly reprehensible politician and person. Trump is, well, Trump. The Republicans don't have a clue what the crazy bastard will do any more than the public does. If he's excessive the Congress as a whole will stand to block him. Pence actually understands how stuff gets done, and the R's hold both Congress and the Executive and are set to pack the Supreme Court as well.

All I can do this morning is trust in the genius of the Founders.

Trump looks like he is going to fewer votes than Romney. Clinton failed utterly to turn out the base in those states

I would take Mike Pence in a heartbeat right now. He is the kind of right-ist that YF is talking about.

Getting a right-wing agenda jammed through is the least of our problems

Maybe. Vote totals will continue to rise. Let's see where they end up.

Election night numbers led to a myth on the right that there were millions of "missing votes" for Romney. It wasn't true.

To hell with buying it. You can answer for it later.

    OK.
I'm generally curious how many voted more FOR an opponent, rather than AGAINST the other?
Specifically.........who voted FOR Hillary rather than AGAINST Trump?.........or who voted FOR Trump rather than AGAINST Hillary?

I don't think HRC had a concession speech prepared for last night, thus the overnight delay. Or at least, she didn't have one good enough for the shock she got.
