They always vote. They did a good job of helping make sure everyone else didn't

This election had the lowest turnout since 2000. For both sides. There were Republican voters who couldn't hack Trump and Democratic voters who just didn't think Clinton made any difference in their lives. If turnout had been huge and Trump won the same way, I'd be slightly less depressed. People are saying, "what's the point?" and that's a super danger to democracy.

Good for you, and here's your gold star ... now explain how it is that a Congressional turnover in which Party A got fewer votes nationwide than Party B is an affront to democracy.

I feel so out of sorts today, like there is no place for me in this country. I don't fit in with the rural midwesterners who bought what Trump was selling. I don't fit in with the Hillary voters trying to score "Hamilton" tickets. It's unsettling.

I don't buy that Trump will resign at any point no matter how bad/hard it gets, but anyone care to set an over/under on the number of Chiefs of Staff he goes through in the next four years?

Obama had 5 in 8 years.
GW Bush had 2 in 8 years.
Clinton had 4 in 8 years.
GHW Bush had 3 in 4 years.

It isn't an affront in abstract. It is the cumulative effect of repeated incidents in this precise climate

But if people lose medical and begin to starve there most likely would be a huge turnout in the next election.
