Stat I just saw. Trump's margin of victory in Michigan was 13,000. About 110,000 voters left the presidential ballot blank. Were they Bernie people? NeverTrumps? We'll never know.

Still processing all of this. Can't believe Trump is going to be president.

I didn't like GWB. But also hated when people compared him, or anyone, to Hitler. I think Obama was a good, maybe great president who got way too much flak.

I think Hillary Clinton has been treated unfairly for much of her life. But she's a worker and not a campaigner. She didn't get it done.

I don't like Trump. But he won. I'll give him a chance. Maybe he'll be ok. Maybe he really still is a liberal underneath it all.

For now, it's time for me to forget about politics for awhile. Enjoy time with my amazing wife. Look forward to the holidays.

Life is short. I'll hope for the best.

    Damn right.

There's a lot of disdain to go around for me. Cruz tops the list, as does, all those GOP primary candidates standing up there to get a book deal or a regular spot on Fox News. Fuck those people.

But apathetic wimps who stayed home, they're up there close.

Didn't Harry Reid and the Democrats do that?

I've never understood the dynamic of letting your personal worldview and level of happiness be determined by how is at 1600 Pennsylvania or running Congress.

I worked with people in newsrooms who constantly bitched about GWB or Gingrich. They'd complain and complain and, many more times than not, they were bad at their jobs. Just turn that negative energy into something productive at work and, boom, your career will usually get better. More money. More opportunity.

People, not as many in journalism, would bitch about Obama. Same thing.

Too many people look for scapegoats in society to justify why their dreams turned into disappointments. Heck, Trump's support came from a lot of this sentiment of a world that may or may not have left some people behind.

If you're a person who has their shit together, just vote early or absentee. Or take an hour and vote on November 8.

The trade association I work for has an event in Washington every year, where we go to meet with regulators and lobby Congress.

This year, my team met with a Democratic congressman who told us he was on board with one of the issues we were pushing but couldn't get support from his party because it would tick off the trial lawyers. He told us he once worked for a big law firm that had a sign on the wall of its offices reading, "He who sues my client is my friend."

While Republicans blamed about people staying home in 2012, Democrats should do the same for the Obama blocs that didn't show up.

When I saw Obama campaigning in Philadelphia with Springsteen, all I could think was how many people in the crowd are only here to see Obama and have no desire to spend time voting for Season 5 Claire Underwood.
