Was it a week ago Trump was in Michigan?

The whole time, I'm thinking, "what the hell is he doing in Michigan?!? He won't win there. Republicans never win there."

Clinton's team must have thought she was safe in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. The polls showed it. Michigan, too. Instead, she would go off to Arizona, a smart move in 2024 but not necessarily right now.

It seemed that HRC did nothing but visit Florida and North Carolina, over and over and over, in the final two weeks. Even with that, the Sanders supporters in the college towns didn't show up and she didn't get the support of the non-white voters like Obama did in 2008 and 2012.

Turned out to be the perfect storm for Trump (one that I should have seen). In 2012, Obama won. In 2010, 2014 and, now, 2016, his policies got smoked at the ballot box.

It couldn't have been flawed. I had been told that internal campaign polling was very reliable, despite the fact that, you know, a nominee in the prior general election totally fucked it up.

Take it a step further, there's a decent chance a person living 40 minutes west of Topeka makes $65,000 a year, owns a nice house, hundreds of acres of property, machinery worth at least six figures and trades in his F-250 for a brand new one every other year.

Meanwhile somebody making twice that in NYC is hoping to find a two-bedroom apartment they can afford to rent. And I bet neither one of them understands or cares very much about the perspective of the other.

How about "all men are created equal" and "power flows from the consent of the governed."

White Votes Count More isn't compatible with those beliefs, so I can conclude that those beliefs aren't real

Here in Texas you encounter lots of people of Mexican ancestry who really don't "identify" as Hispanic. Among DaughterQuant's volleyball circle are twin girls (non-identical) whose father and mother are the quintessence of southern suburbia -- I don't know whether they voted for Trump or not, because I think it'd be rude to ask -- and his/their last name is as stereotypically Hispanic as you can get.

Another possibility, although I don't believe it, is that they knew they had that problem and that is why they tried so hard for NC and Florida

Mmmm hmmm. Very very interesting phishing emails in the inbox the last three days all of a sudden: what was my childhood phone number, what were the names of our neighbors, what was the name of my first boss out of college 35 years ago.

    Most peculiar, mama.

Your posts serve as a reminder to us all that we should never underestimate just how ignorant about history angry lefties can be.

It was truly awful. She inspired no one. She went into victory formation three times during the campaign when she hadn't accomplished shit. It was infuriating.
