There will be a number of NFL games played this week. There will be a Thursday night game - it will probably be crappy. A few teams will be on bye as well.

    Have at it.

Over-under on knees taken during anthems, and bottles thrown at the offending players?

Not much attractive early. Cowboys-Steelers late. Maybe. Same for Sunday night Seahawks-Patriots. Bengals-Giants Monday night, meh.

Michaels wanted out of Thursday night games before the season, but the NFL wouldn't allow it. Every game has been a pain in the ass for him.

Here's an especially idle question that came to me as I was a captive audience for NFL Network at lunch at the saloon that has the best cheeseburger in the immediate vicinity. Has anyone retrofitted fantasy stats to old time players? How many did Jim Brown or O.J. put up? Or Unitas, or Raymond Berry, or Frank Gifford, well you get the idea.

I didn't watch (duh) but surely Al had some under-the-radar snarky comment. Or at the very least the off-air commentary had to be hilarious.

The quarterbacks and receivers probably wouldn't have been terribly good considering the comparative lack of passing offense. The backs would fare better. Kickers? Forget it.

That would be a great exercise. The year OJ got 2,003, the second-leading rusher had 1,144. By contrast, when Peterson got 2,097, there were five other guys with at least 1,400.
