It's a fact that the President is not subject to ethics laws? He couldn't be impeached for breaking them? Come as a surprise to those members of Congress who talking about Clinton's impeachment before the election.

Who do we find to be too supportive of the 1st Amendment? Who is too supportive of the right to reproductive choice? Who supports voting rights just a little too much?

    Michael, look it up.

Most/many conflict of interest laws specifically exempt the President and Vice President.

I think there's a difference between supporting someone's rights and fighting to make sure that some of your fellow citizens do not get the same rights you enjoy.

The President can be impeached for anything ... lying under oath, a horrible comb-over, you name it ...

You are right. What was it Gerald Ford said once when he was minority leader "an impeachable offense is what the House of Representatives says it it."

Well, now that you're being all reasonable you'll also concede @YankeeFan's point, which is that ethics laws don't apply to the President.

    Yes. I understand that.

But, if you believe in something, I'm not sure why we would criticize you for how hard you fight for that belief.

Republicans, and Democrats like Obama and Clinton opposed gay marriage.

Dick finds Republicans worthy of greater criticism because they also pushed for Constitutional backing for their position.

Why would that make it worse?

Yes, I will. They are exempt. But theoretically, his kids running the "blind trust" could be in trouble if they participate in something hinky.

Donald J. Trump will run the most transparent administration ever.

Mainly because he's constitutionally incapable of keeping his friggin' mouth (or twitter) shut, amirite?

That, and look at the campaign. Infighting produces 1000 leaks for every one by a whistleblower.
