I'm uncomfortable with anything that removes rights for a portion of the population - on either side.

Yep. Dems getting ready to spend 40 years in the wilderness.

    You're being disingenuous.

The folks who supported a traditional definition of marriage did not consider their position to be one of denying others a civil right.

Pro-choicers don't believe their position denies a civil right to the unborn, right? So you don't criticize them for seeking a constitutional guaranty for their position.

    Probably more like 100.

Don't forget, in addition to the Scalia/Garland SCOTUS seat which will tip the Court toward the right, Ginsburg and Breyer are both in their eighties and will probably be removed soon for "health reasons." When they go they will be replaced by raving right wing Shiites who will knock the whole court over into lunatic reactionary territory.

By 2018 voter repression measures and ironclad media control will be in place to lock down every congressional district.

After God Emperor Trump is swept to reelection in 2020 the Dems are fucked for decades -- certainly the rest of my lifetime.

Basically in one night the entire government was taken over.

I'm disappointed that you won't respond to what I've asked. I guess I'll stop trying.

Wasn't it the Republicans who were preparing to do so, we were told, in 2008, and the Democrats in 2004? In a closely divided country, it's hard to maintain unified control of government.

YF has now presented evidence that two were made up, but continues to insist there were more without evidence to support his claim.

Did you point out those incidents you are whining about at the time? If they happened, they are out of line, too. That doesn't make what is happening now acceptable and I don't think it is asking much for Trump to denounce such behavior. "The other guys did it!" was never a good enough defense, so I don't see why you are still so enamored with using it.

That's depressing but this GOP bunch is ruthless. Regaining control of the Supreme Court is the scariest part of the deal. They'll be able to do pretty much anything they want.

Where is the police report? I thought you insisted on those to believe such things.

It gets easier when you control the percentage you need to reach to win and it keeps getting lower.

I give Roe v Wade a 50/50 shot at surviving the decade

That's been pretty much true of every decade since the case was decided.
