Are they gonna blow it now?

Listened to the game while driving through northern Wisconsin on the way home. Packers radio crew was audibly disgusted by the effort level. Mike McCarthy is in serious trouble of being fired. In fact, on the post game call in show, I counted 7 of the first 15 callers who wanted him fired.

    Seems low.

But what exactly was my brother's argument?

"Packers OT" can be a hoot after games like this. Personally, I considered it a reward after putting up with the game. I think five of the first six were "Fire McCarthy" calls and I figure whoever was screening decided to mix it up a bit. There were a few "glass half full" callers (which isn't terribly half baked, if they got their shit together, they're only a game behind the Vikings and Lions, who are both dumpster fires in their own ways). One guy still said they could go 11-5 (they're 4-5 and still have to play Seattle, Philly and Washington, among others).

Perhaps he's coming to the realization of how really bad they are. Or he's having trouble finding a listing agent.

I was afraid they were going to flag Chancellor for PI there. All he did was get shoved to the ground by a runaway moose.

Sure it wasn't the door hitting him on the way out?

Just realized that my 5-hour drive caused me to miss a Dick Stockton game on Fox. Made it worth it. Old coot is still infamous in my book for calling the lefty QB out of U-Dub "Scott Brunell" for most of the first half of the season opener ... in 2005.

In other 49ers dysfunction news, Jed York wanted to build himself a little playhouse in his backyard, and after some back-and-forth with the city and complaints from neighbors (about their view), he got it approved. Wouldn't shake the neighbors' hands afterward at the council meeting.

And the dark money PAC that was spending like crazy on the Santa Clara city council election, to defeat the incumbents who are calling for an audit into whether the city is illegally spending money (police etc.) on stadium events ... all that PAC money went for naught as the incumbents won easily.

I've been saying it was headed there for years, but what we have now, and for as long as the Yorks own the team (which will most likely be forever), is a full-on Snyder dumpster fire. Redskins West.
