Dick, a "blip" in polling after a major event is not the same thing as 40 years of sustained opposition to a ruling.

Changing the Constitution and/or overturning a Supreme Court ruling should be hard, and should take some time, so that we aren't careening back and forth with the wind.

The opposition to abortion isn't the wind changing in direction.

Regardless of how you feel about the issue, there's no way to view it as "settled". It just isn't.

And, if the media wants to make good on its promise to cover "middle America", it might start with covering this year's March for Life.

 

This was designed to gin up his base to come out and vote for him.

And, it worked.

 

Look, if you want to make the argument that a Constitutional right to abortion is "settled law", let's hear it.

The best part? He and Joe Biden are the only (last?) Democrats able to talk to white working class voters.

 

Gay marriage isn't settled law. Abortion isn't settled law. Not while people are gearing up for cases to bring them both down.

Trump's settled-law statement is bullshit. No one in favor of gay marriage should take comfort in it.
