Just did a bit of the Google w.r.t. Pence's history. Couple of things struck me: 1) my hypothesis earlier about the framing of same-sex marriage as "the new civil rights movement" doesn't seem overblown (seeing as how one of the links was to thenewcivilrightsmovement.com; and 2) in such sjw kerfuffles, I get aggravated as I try to nail down exactly what's at issue. For example, Pence reportedly made it a felony for same-sex couples to even try to get a marriage license, but when you finally (FINALLY!) get to the actual law, it's not quite that.

Anyway, I would argue that Pence deserves the same opportunity to step back (or ignore) his track record re: same-sex marriage as, say, the man currently occupying the White House.

Yeah ... consistently wrong. But that puts him in awfully "good" company.

Why is Snopes.com and the phrase "Mostly False" at the top of my search hits list?

I think Trump is mostly clumsy when talking about race, as are many 70-year-old white men. Urban sophisticates ain't havin' it.

Here's a strategy Dems should get behind:

Eliot Cohen, a foreign affairs/natl. security official under GW Bush, part of the Republican community in that field, wrote a piece yesterday urging his peers to serve in a Trump administration if asked to provide guidance and as a matter of patriotism. Then he met with the transition team. He took it all back on twitter, calling the meeting horrible and ugly and urging peers to "stay far away." This bodes ill.
