No need to embarrass Trump. He's already a national embarrassment.

 

I find it fascinating that there is as much or more interest on this thread in dissecting Hillary Clinton's perceived shortcomings now as before the election. Whatever happens next in this country is not her responsibility. She ran as best she could and lost a squeaker. Trump and the Republicans are the story now.

 

I can't disagree with this more. She ran a horrible, condescending, tone-deaf campaign. She didn't take the Trump threat seriously and paid the price.

 

The price was getting one million more votes (and rising)?

 

That's lovely. She didn't get the votes that mattered.

 

I told conservatives to work for Trump. One talk with his team changed my mind.

 

Honestly, I believe the "deplorables" comment did more harm than good.

Look, man, I can think my neighbor is dumb, white trash.
I can even know my neighbor is dumb, white trash.
But, if I want to maintain a civil relationship with them, I probably shouldn't call them dumb, white trash to their face.

 

I think the election turned on that comment. It gave the Trumpists a rallying cry and showed her to be out of touch with a good portion of the electorate.

Let's just be clear about something -- she lost by 70 EVs.

That's not a squeaker by any definition.

 

We should talk about this too.

Absentee ballots by mail are only counted in states where they have the ability to alter the election.

There are millions of absentee ballots that will go uncounted, and Republicans outperform Dems 2-1 in absentee ballots.

Not that it matters, since winning the popular vote isn't the goal, but we truly do not know who won it.
