So, it's unclear to me from the articles I've read, was "very racist Jeff Sessions" treated like a pariah by senate democrats during his 20 years in the senate?

 

The good news is that the Democrats may be able to flip the open Alabama Senate seat. I'm surprised they are contesting this pick.

 

Sessions home state Senator voted against him in committee. This along with Spector's vote helped to kill the nomination, with the committee voting him down 10-8.

When Senator Heflin retired, Sessions won the election to succeed him.

 

He is an overweight 73 year old man. He couldn't meet the demands of any major administrative position. Hillary Clinton was in her early 60's as Secretary of State and it took a toll on her.
