But, when he attended that show, he was still against gay marriage. Why didn't the cast and crew make a scene?

 

But we all know that Sessions is still the same guy he was in the seventies, right? His middle name's Beauregard, for goodness sake!

 

So in addition to treating The Media as a monolith, we have to do the same with The Theatre - even years apart?

 

That's the America our president-elect wanted, fought for and campaigned on.

 

I agree. I wouldn't have done it had I been there. The cast's statement after the show, a dignified and civil expression of concern, should have been allowed to stand for itself. But neither am I surprised at the audience reaction. Millions of people see Trump as an existential threat to their rights as citizens, as human beings. He's got the power now. If he doesn't want to be seen as a threat, he should try reassurance rather than his usual whining when confronted by opposition.
