The idea that the Cheeto Jesus does anything out of some grand plan is absurd on its face.

Dunno if it is a "grand plan" thing. But Trump is a classic bullshit artist. The fact that many people still can't recognize it in this day and age astounds me, but I suppose it isn't that surprising. The fact that his BS actually works some of the time is what emboldens him to keep BSing. The guy inhabits a world in which the truth doesn't matter. He knows that all he has to do is bluff, disseminate false things, change the conversation, be generally dishonest, obscure reality with anything that he can sling and that sticks, etc., and it is working for him right now.

If you succeed in taking over a conversation with your BS, the truth itself gets permanently obscured. It's why the people calling him a "liar" have never gotten it. For a liar, the distinction between true and false still exists. A bullshit artist doesn't care what is true or not. He is in the business of trying to obscure any semblance of truth and creating his own truth. Which in the case of Trump will shape shift wherever he takes it, and for as long as he can get away with it. It's actually more dangerous than someone who is a liar, in my opinion.

Will Trump do a better job with infrastructure spending than Obama?

Here’s how President-elect Trump could unify a bitterly divided America, provide well-paying jobs to many of the millions of disaffected workers who voted for him, and lift the economy, stock market and tax rolls.

All he needs to do is what he presumably does best: build something.

And I don’t mean a few miles of asphalt or a paint job on a rusting bridge.

Build something awe-inspiring. Something Americans can be proud of. Something that will repay the investment many times over for generations to come.

Build the modern-day equivalent of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Lincoln Tunnel or the Timberline Lodge. Or even, given Mr. Trump’s passion for the sport, another Bethpage State Park Black Course — the first public golf course to host the prestigious United States Open.

All of these are Depression-era New Deal public works projects started under President Franklin D. Roosevelt that are still in use.

Can anyone name even one infrastructure project from President Obama’s $800 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act? I didn’t think so.

That's what the shit shower of competing and conflicting leaks over his cabinet appointments is all about. Nobody can focus on any one disgusting/dismaying name at a time with dozens of other horrifying prospects thrown into the mix.

To take two threads back around in a circle: Which pro-am will Pres. Trump first sign up for. Pebble, Doral, Woods' tournament in DC?

Serious question: what's the last thing Trump built? Not let somebody else build and then he licensed the Trump name for it. But what's the last thing Trump Corp. actually had ownership of from groundbreaking until the doors were opened?

The WGC tourney was outsourced from his Doral course to Mexico, so it won't be there.

    He owns Doral, right?

But, didn't the PGA pull the tournament?

Trump won't play a single hole of golf for official scoring purposes while he's president.

Yes, it did. That's why I think he'd play Woods' first. It's very military support themed (nothing bad about that, of course), is in DC and he'll have been in office for about six months, so he could take a little time off without that much criticism. Ford played in several as President, so there's precedent. Also, he craves approval (all of us do, some more than most) and a PGA Tour tournament crowd is about as far from the Hamilton audience as you can get.
