And, btw, how did I not know about Martha Raddatz -- who moderated one of the debates -- nearly breaking down in tears when it became clear that Trump would win?

So, about that NYT meeting.

 

Those of us who have paid attention to the decline of newspapers should realize that the media's biggest problem is not Trump but yet another failure to properly adapt to how news is gathered and disseminated. I think Trump should stop the Twitter stuff, but he never will. He is the first Social Media President, and the platform allows him to bypass traditional media and talk "directly" to the people. Trump doesn't need the media, but they need him. That's not good, but the media has destroyed its credibility. If they want to fight on Trump's level, they will loose. The media is in the wilderness right now. There are thousands of legitimate stories as we get ready to transition from Obama to Trump. But they're obsessed with Trump's Twitter comments. If the media doesn't figure out how to use social media effectively, then Trump is just the beginning. Every presidential candidate is going to follow his lead and the traditional media will become a relic.

 

Can we stop pretending that he Tweeted about "Hamilton" as some kind of calculated diversionary tactic? He was grousing about Trump University on there 20 minutes prior. He's a loose cannon.
