UPDATED: Attacker at Ohio State University killed

Yeah, I'm not seeing YF's gripe here. The University reported an active shooter on its own campus. Do you really expect reporters not to report that?

 

This is not optimal thinking.

 

In the media's defense, they're not the only ones itching to play on the Jump to Conclusions mat.

 

Sorry, but this excuse doesn't fly. We wouldn't accept it from any other professional, we shouldn't accept it from media professionals.

It's like a cop asking to not be judged on the bullets he fired when first arriving on the scene, before he could firmly establish what was happening.

Nope. You get judged on your performance, period.

 

There it is:

 

Weapons of mass destruction!

 

I had my money on guy with Irish-sounding name.

 

And if the media only reported what Ohio State had tweeted out, they would be fine.

But, they quote witnesses in bathrooms who say there were multiple shooters.

 

This really is a great analogy.

 

At least we know the folks here making excuses for the bad news reports would also support the cop in this situation.

 

The police were likely the "multiple shooters."

A couple of sides need to drink some Calm the Fuck Down juice.
