Kareem was so smooth; I read his autobiography, "Giant Steps", as a kid and I was fascinated to find that he was so nimble because he took ballet(!) lessons as a kid. He could no doubt dominate just as well today as then. Never understood why no one ever came along with as sweet as a hook as Kareem; not even close.

Those highlights between (not the ones after) Wilt and Kareem don't do Wilt justice, he was getting old while Kareem was in his absolute prime.

Hmm... no one is talking about Jim Buss resigning anymore. The Kobe farewell tour was extremely profitable for the Lakers, the NBA and the associated media. It was also boring as hell for us die hard Laker fans.

Today's .500 Lakers are so much fun to watch. Luke Walton has excellent managerial skills. Watch one of his press conferences , as opposed to going to a career improvement seminar.

Wilt was still good even in his 30s -- essentially he transitioned into Bill Russell for the final third of his career (after Russell was gone). Even in his last few defense and rebounding seasons he went out and put up 40-45 a couple times a season just to prove he could still do it.

Or, sometimes when he'd get pissed, he'd call for the ball four or five straight possessions and slam down atomic bomb dunks. His final line for the game might be 5 2-7 12, but four of those baskets might come in a 2:00 stretch.

Did anyone see the Bucks-Cavs game last night? It had a bit of the young Kareem vs Wilt feel. Giannis was by far the best player on the court and it wasn't particularly close. Clearly Lebron is still the best player in the game but Giannis is top 15 for sure right now and I think in 3 years he could be the best player in the world. He is averaging 23 a game and he can not shoot. He is a combo of Dr J and Magic, a truly unique talent. Over the last couple of weeks they have played the Warriors (lost by 3) and he had 30/4/6, the Raptors (lost by 6) he had 29/6/11 and the Cavs (won by 17) and he had 34/12/5/5 steals/2 blocks. That is 93/22/22 vs three of the best teams in the league. And BTW, he turns 22 next week.

    Lakers are interesting.

Beat Warriors by 20 then lose back to back games to Warriors by a combined 67.

Played the Spurs tough in 9-point loss.

Lose by 17 to the Thunder but beat the Thunder by 2 the next time.

Lose to the Bulls at home but come back a week later to win in Chicago.
