To borrow a phrase from his campaign, perhaps Carson is Trump's black?

Yeah but... it would be nice if they just implemented their agenda and let it succeed without acting like babies. But they had no clue they would win and have no real policy agenda, they have tweet points. Dumb down talking points which are abbreviated bullet points.

They are still crying about the MSM, about Hillary and most distressing the underlying concept behind the entire victory lap is 'Paybacks are going to be a bitch'

Keep telling yourself that somebody who spent a decade as a city councilman and mayor of a city of 1.4m doesn't understand housing and urban development.

From the real conservative in the 2016 election ...

As a C.I.A. officer, I saw firsthand authoritarians’ use of these tactics around the world. Their profound appetite for absolute power drives their intolerance for any restraint — whether by people, organizations, the law, cultural norms, principles or even the expectation of consistency. For a despot, all of these checks on power must be ignored, undermined or destroyed so that he is all that matters.

Oh, he understands the Democratic version of it -- Uncle Sam's gonna make everything all better -- just fine.

    Where's the... evidence?

It was a part time job. Ceremonial.

It was always about building a resume for higher office for both Castro brothers.

Julian made his money giving speeches, getting a book advance for a book that doesn't appear to have been published, and from a referral fee from a trial lawyer, and big Dem donor, for a case in which there's no evidence Castro actually referred the case.

San Antonio Express-News columnist Brian Chasnoff recently reportedthat Castro made more than $200,000 in 2013. The bulk of that, Chasnoff noted, was a $127,500 advance for the memoir that Castro is writing. More came from the speaking fees that were a product of Castro's post-convention visibility: $12,750 for one speech, $16,250 for another, $8,500 for another, and so on. "When I asked [Castro] how much he was charging in speaking fees, he declined to comment," Chasnoff wrote, explaining that the figures came from a recent financial disclosure form.

That's how Castro supports himself and his family now. But the seed money for Castro's time in the mayor's office -- he was first elected in 2009 -- was a controversial seven-figure "referral fee" that Castro, a Harvard-educated lawyer, received from a well-connected trial lawyer and Democratic donor in a personal injury lawsuit in which Castro may or may not have played a major role.

If chosen for HUD, Julian Castro's work, big payday could face scrutiny

Regardless of his politics, being involved in city leadership for a major metro area prepared him better for the HUD job than a career of neurosurgery followed by three solid years of political commentary.

The Washington Post said that his memoir was due to be published in 2015.

    8. The mayor's memoir is scheduled to be published in 2015.
He apparently rents hotel rooms out of town when he needs peace and quiet to write.

The 10 things you need to know about Julian Castro

Little, Brown, and Company put out a press release announcing the acquisition of the memoir. (They said it would be published in 2014.)

I can't find it on Amazon.com. Did he ever publish it?

What happened to the $127,500 advance he got for it?

And, the hotel rooms! LOL. If he wasn't getting his writing done, what were the hotel rooms for?

Most folks go to their local coffee shop. This guy, who had a job that paid $4,000 a year, rented hotel rooms to write, and still hasn't published his memoir.

I don't think my wife would buy that.

Is there a single housing -- or transportation project -- that Castro worked on as Mayor of San Antonio?

It's never mentioned in his bios, or press releases.

His personal narrative is mentioned every time though.

He didn't lead the city of San Antonio. He held a part-time, ceremonial position, that paid $2,000, plus a $20.00 per diem.

    It's laughable.
