CNN produces a candidates forum, and gives Hillary Clinton the questions in advance.

They literally produced a fake news event.

The Clinton campaign produces staged events, with pre-planned questions, and media covers it as if it's a real news event.

I guess threatening people caught in Dear Leader's crosshairs is the new hotness among the, um, economically distressed.

Trayvon Martin is killed, and the family lawyer writes a narrative, that Charles Blow, Al Sharpton, and others repeat, and it becomes real news, used by all kinds of media outlets in the absence of actual reporting.

The head of the steal workers union is complaining about hard ball tactics. That's rich.

It's amazing to watch the contortions some will go through to smear all of the media.

Do you tell your employees they better keep an eye on their kids when they ask for better working conditions? That's just hardball tactics after all.

You think Ben Rhodes was trying to smear all the media? I think he was just being honest.

    Truculence Before Truth

And, this passage is particularly poetic in retrospect:

And Reid’s defenders will say that Romney’s reluctance to release more than one complete year of tax returns (at least so far) makes clear that he’s hiding something, which must be flushed out one way or another. Plus, to them, Reid’s claim has the feel of near-truth. It passes muster as a metaphor if not as a matter of demonstrable fact. It’s a genuinely felt worry of sorts and valid as such.

But if you’re going to subscribe to that sort of reasoning, “You might as well put a dead cocker spaniel on your head and start yelling about birth certificates,” said Jon Stewart on “The Daily Show,” flashing a photograph of the quizzically coiffed Donald Trump, who to my eyes was wearing either an Irish setter or maybe a Pomeranian. Stewart’s point — an excellent one — is that the crazies who insist that President Obama wasn’t born in the United States are Reid’s philosophical and strategic kinfolk.

Remember this one, that @Baron Scicluna shared last week:

Did he care that it was fake?

Look, this stuff is very simple.

Did Kurt Eichenwald suffer ant consequences for saying he believed that Trump had been hospitalized for a nervous breakdown in 1990?

This Fake News stuff must give you such great joy. You can enlarge the circle to justify your petty trolling of the media on here with it.

But the sad part is your attitude among the population at large is why Fake News exists at all. "We can't trust the MSM!" So they go looking for "trustworthy" sites, confirmation bias (paired with the general stupidity of a lot of people) kicks in and suddenly people are believing Alex Jones when he says Clinton actually murdered children with her own two hands. Or that Sandy Hook didn't happen. Or that Obama was born in Kenya instead of Hawaii.

But, yeah, continue with your crusade. By tearing down legit media, you're just helping create more bad information.
