Most of the pols in my state are Republicans. Especially the crazy ones. Sorry. Can't think of any that are so publicly delusional and narcissistic.

He also confronts any number of institutional barriers to the spasms to which he's prone. You know, all those "tyranny of the dead!" things you're usually so disdainful of.

This assumes the media "got the story wrong". You don't even believe that. You know the media was purposely reporting something false when they repeatedly said that Donald Trump "admitted to committing sexual assault".

Did Rolling Stone get the UVa rape story "wrong" or did they find a way to tell a story they wanted to tell, whether or not it was true?

Was it wrong to report as fact that Big Mike was shot while running away with his hands up, or should trained journalists have known better than to report one witnesses statement as "fact"?

This is purposeful Dick. They aren't mistakes.

And, even to the degree that you could argue in favor of "mistake" and not "willfulness", these mistakes are overwhelmingly negative towards republicans, cops, social norms, Christian conservatives, etc., because newsrooms lack any kind of ideological diversity, and the stories they want to tell are ones that make these groups look bad.

You really think that's what I'm saying?

Sure. But in terms of direct limitations on his power, there aren't a ton of those once he is in office.

There are a lot of traditional limitations based on the assumption that the President will respect norms, but one of the symptoms of his illness is that he will have no respect for those.

The Comet Pizza story originated in thinly trafficked swamps of the internet, by nameless posters.

Mitt Romney didn't pay taxes originated with the Democratic Party leader in the Senate.

Sorry, but these aren't the same thing. Yes, media members - including most people here - do think that Donald Trump "admitted to committing sexual assault." Yes, Sabrina Erdely did think that Jackie was gang raped by that fraternity. Find me someone that reported "as fact that Big Mike was shot while running away with his hands up."

    What's 100% true?

So what? It's not what I'm talking about. If there was a story that reported as fact that Mitt Romney didn't pay taxes, then it is the same. Harry Reid speculating that Mitt Romney didn't pay taxes, and someone reporting that Harry Reid said that, is not "fake news."

Trump openly admitted to a behavior that is sexual assault
