If these "honest mistakes" follow a pattern, do reporters like Kurt deserve the benefit of the doubt?

Similar to when a president-elect's rhetoric on women follows a pattern, you mean?

Did Donald Trump "admit to committing sexual assault"?

Trump faced the judgment of the American people.

Kurt seems able to make wild speculation in public, make mistakes, or access child porn without recrimination.

0.1 percent of Americans know who the fuck Kurt Eichenwald is.

Your answer also doesn't have anything to do with the question I asked.

I know who he is. Wasn't he the former Secretary General of the United Nations who had been a Nazi during WWII?

His editors know who he is.

If journalists want to hold politicians accountable for their actions, then someone has to hold them accountable.

There's no evidence this is happening.

The media mistakes, overreactions, and predictions this cycle were atrocious.

Who's paid a price for this? Anyone?

Did Donald Trump deserve the "benefit of the doubt" when he said that he "[doesn't] even wait" before he "grab(s) 'em by the pussy?" Or, due to his prior rhetoric regarding women, is it OK to write that he "admitted to sexual assault"?

Thank heaven the libel laws will be "loosened up" soon.

Again, Trump faced the people. They decided whether or not his comments were disqualifying.

Fact based journalists like Kurt make "mistakes" and face no judgment.

Opinion journalists, employed for their analysis, for putting events in context, for explaining what we were seeing, and what the public's would be were nearly universally wrong the entire cycle. I don't of any who have been replaced by journalists who might have a better handle on the American public.

Trump "faced the people," more of whom voted for his opponent than for him.
