The fact is, the main stream media gets to make these decisions.

And, as a result of their choices, trust in media has never been lower.

The Democratic Party and the media elite both thrive in coastal urban centers, and are increasingly irrelevant in the rest of the country.

I'love be curious to watch how both address this problem.

@YankeeFan doesn't think that Donald Trump necessarily "admitted to sexual assault," and he is certainly on the record as being in agreement with me that a journalist shouldn't write that he did as fact.

But he has no problem assigning intent to this reporter. To Sally Kohn. To Harry Reid. To Sabrina Rubin Erdely. They all "lied."

The public's trust in the media has been eroded by three decades of the GOP gaming the system by disingenuously whining about them. They could get Americans to dislike puppies and kittens with a similar campaign.

 

The media has done a pretty good job eroding the public's trust all on its own, too. The increasing disdain for "editing" was one of the main reasons I left in the first place, and it's only gotten worse in the near-decade I've been out.

YF's shtick really doesn't have anything to do with "the public's trust in the media," though.
