These are the money graphs in that story (and they were buried):

It fits with other things we know about how this administration operated. Afraid of their own shadows. Always thinking about how they could win cooperation from countries that were being hostile toward us. Never worrying about being taken advantage of -- even as they were taken advantage of. They have been feckless.

Then, after it bites them in the ass, if there is a politicized reason, they find religion to do what they were afraid to do when it might have been meaningful if it was really ever that big of a deal to them.

It is absolute bullshit to have sat on their hands while it was happening, but then in the wake of the election, to try to delegitimize Trump's win by suddenly deciding it is so important that it needs to get aired publicly. It's just slimy and shows a decided lack of character.

The more I think about it, the more I come to believe that in a practical sense, Trump CAN'T separate himself from his businesses. They could be in a blind trust and the affect would be the same. His name is the sole asset of his business. He can't rename Trump properties. Even if he wasn't President, that'd ruin his business. People know he's President and they will seek to curry his favor through doing business with Trump businesses. They'll tell him they did, even if the businesses don't. It's really as if the CEO of the Coca-Cola Co. became President and his name was actually Fred Coca-Cola.

That reminds me. Feckless Frank and The Lack of Characters are playing at the Hideaway Saloon on Saturday night.

    Exactly.

Here is another thing. I am certain that Trump is capable of doing unscrupulous or dishonest things in business. And that he has done a lot of dishonest things during his life. I also am certain that his reason for running was not to use the office to earn another X percent return on his assets by graft he could collect from the office. He is where he is because he is a narcissist. Plain and simple.

His business holdings are going to be made into an issue and it is going to dog him, because there will be easy-to-identify conflicts of interest and anything can be turned into an appearance of impropriety -- whether that impropriety exists or not. And everything gets politicized.

There are a gazillion things that bother me about him and how disastrous I think he is going to be for our country. But that is just not one of them -- unless we get actual evidence of him doing something dishonest. Maybe that will happen. I don't put anything past him. But if it doesn't, he's the person who walked into the presidency as a very wealthy man with a lot of business interests and a very high profile. That is much less concerning to me than the people who have walked in without the wealth, but left very wealthy because of what they did with the office.

Once he gets in office, he gets ALL the money. All previous concepts of "graft" go out the window.
Forget millions, forget billions, now he can steal trillions. And he will.

Calling bullshit on this one, especially since he cites a State Department source, instead of a Trump transition source:
