    How would you characterize Slate?

Contrarian bullshit and all-around glibness. The more significant the issue, the more glib and shallow it gets.

Kinda hard to believe @Starman can't manage to make it stick at Daily Kos ... sounds like she'd fit right in.
Be happy for coal miners losing their health insurance. They're getting exactly what they voted for

I mean, their music writer wrote about how Creed was underrated!

And haven't they run columns about how puppies and kittens really aren't all that cute?

LOL. Only one Republican elector told the AP that they won't vote for Trump.

He definitely needs Abby Martin to help facilitate that message.

Boy, if you set out to crush the dreams of journalists at Christmas, mission accomplished.

Slate is wildly liberal. They aren't shy about saying so.

Ehhh. They're kinda hipster-yuppie liberal. They're "liberal" in comparison to the majority of the corporatist-dominated conventional reactionary MSM, but that's it.

There are hardly any legitimately "liberal" outlets in American media. The Overton Window has been dragged inexorably to the right for 40 years.

What's considered wild-ass liberal by US media standards would be considered moderate-centrist in most of the rest of the world.

If this story was reporting something you didn't like, you'd zero in on this part "The Associated Press tried to reach all 538 electors and interviewed more than 330 of them ... " and be pointing out that leaves 200 or so electors who weren't interviewed.

You'd be hammering the AP for reporting as a fact that only one (1) elector was not voting for Trump even though there were 200 whose intentions we didn't know.

@Starman: Name at least one substantive media outlet that's "liberal."

    Someone: What about Slate?

    @Starman: Nah, I don't consider that liberal.

Someone: What would it take for you to consider Slate to be liberal?

@Starman: They'd have to make it mandatory to refer to Trump as "Fucko," and they'd need at least three full-time reporters on the "Trump Fucks His Daughter" beat. Oh, and their stylebook would have to be amended to make "c**t" and "ret**d" acceptable adjectives when referring to public figures who aren't Democrats.

ETA: First time I've ever typed out the c-word here. Didn't realize the system automatically changes that to "pussycat."
