I had a horrible slice off the tee with the driver for years. Switched to 3-wood only for a few seasons. When I went back to the driver, my swing was much better and what had been a slice is now an acceptable fade that hits fairways, not parts unknown. Of course, that may just be the product of getting older and weaker.

You know what they say about long hitters ... the woods are full of 'em.

One easy correction that helped cure my slice (for the most part) was my grip. Turn your right hand to the left so you can see the back of your hand (or logo on your glove) and then don't swing as hard. You'll be amazed at the difference. Then, gradually start to swing a little harder as you start getting the hang of the new grip.

The phrase "don't swing as hard" is pretty close to my mantra off the tee.

Oh, fuck, I've been scraping my irons around for a month and I hadn't thought about the grip ... I guaran-damn-tee I've gone weak there, because I'm killing it with a power fade with the driver but I'm absolutely lost with every other club.

Not many people do it, but golf is a lot cheaper and a lot less frustrating if you just go to the driving range and practice, then putt around on the free putting green. Forget about playing 9 or 18.

    PRACTICE.

Then when you do want to go play 9 or 18, hit another bucket of balls FIRST. Too many people jump from their car to the golf cart.

You're wearing two gloves? Or are you left-handed?

Doing some Wikipedia diving and realized both Tiger and LeBron were born on Dec. 30.

    Hardest combo pack to beat?
