Part of that is that college baseball games are too long, and that by the time we get to late June, we're just worn out on college sports. Softball is something different that we don't see on TV all the time, and ESPN does a great job of marketing it. Plus, the games are super quick.

This is an interesting turn, as I had been told that college baseball's model is very successful and something that college basketball would be well-served in emulating.

Dick, I know you're trolling for the sake of trolling, because you're not dense, but I'll say this anyway.

College baseball's competition model is worth emulating. It's television model, not so much.

The reason it's not more popular is, among other reasons, is because most top prospects never make their way through. What is worth emulating about it?

College baseball is loaded with prospects these days, and guys who are going to get to the majors quicker than most kids who sign out of high school.

If the rules were the same, Bryce Harper and Ben Simmons would go the same route, whatever is the quickest to the pros. But the baseball model gives you guys like Dansby Swanson and Brandon Finnegan.

So college basketball can be less good, of course, silly.

I like how college baseball fans have carjacked the thread with belief statements that hold no factual evidence. "Forget the ratings, the limited regional appeal, the lack of stars! College baseball f-ing rules!!!"

I think that college basketball should emulate IndyCar racing. I love IndyCar racing. Therefore, college basketball should emulate IndyCar's model because I love it.
