Hillary lost another electoral vote. One of Hawaii's electors voted for Bernie Sanders. Her supporters might have wanted to figure out how this whole "get the electors to change their votes" concept worked before they pushed for it.

Cue the right-wing outrage over Oprah interviewing Mrs. Obama for an hour tonight.

I think the Clinton people knew there was not actually going to be electors changing votes en masse. Not that making the call for it is a wholelly dumb idea, it's just misguided and had no chance of working. What we're seeing in Maine, Washington and Hawaii are people giving the finger to both parties for being aweful. Bernie represented the left's populist movement that was actually successfully quashed unlike the GOP's movement that ended in a dipshit getting elected. Since the electors in states that Hilary won can't affect the election, they're voicing how pissed off they are with the establishment.

Honestly, as much as I wish there was a way to deny Trump the presidency (and belive me, I wish there was a way to keep that biggoted Russian puppet out of office) I'm actually scared at what would happen to this country if the guy who was legitimately elected were to be denied office. The Trumpers were already angry, angry people at the rallies, God help us if those guys were told their president couldn't take office because of the Washington establishment. Our only hope now is the GOP getting its head out of its ass and actually returing to governing this country and stop being 5 year olds throwing a tantrum because other people want to play with wands rather than with a car garage.

The reaction of the "angry Trumpers," in that scenario, would be wholly justified.
That was what was so annoying about the entire movement to get the electors to change their vote, just like it was so annoying about Democrats turning a blind eye toward Obama's use of executive orders to expand presidential power. It's a temper tantrum in its own right. They're trying to erode, if not outright destroy, the bedrock principles of the country just because they think the other side is a bunch of jerks, and they're doing it thinking those jerks will never have the ability to turn it around on them. Meanwhile, all they're doing is setting the precedent for the jerks they hate to use the same playbook on them one day.
    It's insanely short-sighted and stupid.
And now "one day" just might be here.

Looking at the North Carolina coup, you just might be right.

Was Krugman expecting a different outcome today?

I didn't think I'd get a second helping of tears, but these ones taste just as sweet as last month's.

Yeah, I think the left has pretty much cornered the outrage market these days.
