NFL Week 15: The Cowboys are in prime time again

I hadn't thought about the draft pick. That makes it an even better deal for the Patriots.

 

At least they didn't get raped.

 

Rex Ryan shoulda said after the game, "Your future hasn't been written yet. No one's has. So make it a good one!"

 

Even if they had played Dallas, that's a dumb headline.

 

Okay, my two cents...

I do not work on the copy desk, although I do help out during the summer months over there.

All I could think when I saw that hed today was (pardon my French) "Jesus H Tap-Dancing Christ."

Our design hub is in Michigan... hell, it's right down the hall from where I work... and I don't know what the hell happened to bring on a hed like that. I would imagine there's been some teeth-gnashing today (I'm on PTO for two weeks with the exception of tomorrow night) and I do want to find out what happened.

 

I read that really quickly and thought for half a second that the Lions were raped by the Dallas Cowboys.

 

So, that actually went to press? Not just a Web copy?

 

Well, at least they got the Dec. 27 edition put to bed early.

 

It went to press, Tiger. I'm guessing no one gave it a good proofing because it's a non-home delivered edition. Just a newsstand copy. I really hope this forces some change on that desk. Not anyone losing their job. There are a ton of good people over there, but they just have to do work at too fast a pace.

 

A good proofing? How about just a cursory glance?
