"The Force Awakens" (with SPOILERS)

I guess there could be stories there, but I don't think I'd find them interesting. We already know Vader's story from start to finish and we know Palpatine's story from at least its midpoint to finish. I'm just not sure there's much left to flesh out that would be worth two hours and $50.

I would watch a movie with the Darth Vader we saw at the end of R1 if there's a good story to tell.

As a space nerd, I have to set aside lots of things. The Death Star moving is one of them. But it's not nearly as tough to get past as the whole weightlessness thing. I mean, I loved this movie—it might be my favorite of them all—but when Darth Vader is standing in an open cargo bay door looking into space... AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

He was using the Force? That's my go-to excuse. Didn't think about it until you mentioned it.

Now with the death of Carrie Fisher, with Ep. VIII completely shot and in the can, I wouldn't be surprised if there are some major plot/script revisions, maybe a title change, before release.

Certainly it closes down some of the plot options for Ep. IX.

Pretty much guarantees they can't kill off Hamill now, right? Certainly one of the original trio has to make it to the end.

I'd be curious if they do the CGI. I have a feeling the general population wouldn't like it so soon, but I see no difference between bringing Cushing back from the dead 25 years after the fact vs. bringing someone back who'd recently died (so long as her estate approves and gets paid, that is).

This blows on so many levels.

Maybe they can do what they did in Star Trek Beyond where Spock got a letter that his older self had passed away of course coinciding with the death of Leonard Nemoy. Or in Ep. IX they can pull an Alderan where they have Rey or Fin looking out from the deck of a ship that destroys a cruiser carrying Leia or blows up a planet with her on it.

But like I said, this blows.
