Wasn't the War on Drugs pretty much the first war on anything? I guess there was poverty in the 60s but Drugs was next in line.

I recall Schiff being against beating the crap out of the citizenry, so that would be a major philosophical shift there.

Maybe CBS might want to refer to the tape as "alleged":
