That's why I eventually went with Cooks over Montgomery, because I was afraid I was going to outsmart myself. Sometimes it's easy to overanalyze and end up putting in the guy who you think has a juicy matchup instead of the guy who has simply been better all season long. Moves like that have definitely cost me in the past.

Ultimately, this week I got fairly lucky in that a couple of incorrect decisions did not cost me even though I left points on the bench.

I need 29.2 out of Jordan Reed tonight to advance. Pretty bloody unlikely.

Sammy Watkins and Thomas Rawls killed me. That I made it to the semifinals with the trash I had at RB/WR was an accomplishment in itself. The only reason I got that far was because Ezekiel was insanely good and consistent. So I'm not too broken up. I didn't have close to the best team.

I left an easy 23 points on my bench from Gabriel and Hightower, only got about 10 from the core of my lineup (Dez, Amari Cooper, Fitzgerald, Ertz and Adam Thielen), and still managed to score 81 points and lock up my first-round playoff game with Jonathan Stewart still to go tonight.
    Nice.

Currently beating a pretty decent team 155-42 in our fantasy semifinals. I'm out of guys and he's got two left, but it's basically mathematically impossible for him to stage a comeback. It'll get tighter, sure, but I can still look at that score with amusement.

Left Cooks on my bench and it didn't matter because of Brees and McCoy. Barring a 50-point effort from Jonathan Stewart tonight, I'm in.

Already won one semifinal -- my opponent is done and I'm up 29 with Cousins playing tonight. Now I've got my eye on the other semi -- the No. 1 seed, who went 13-1 and had by far the most points in the league, is in trouble, trailing by seven heading into tonight's game. Top seed has DeSean Jackson and Greg Olsen, No. 4 seed has Pierre Garcon and Jordan Reed. The Yahoo projection has the 4 seed winning by three -- I'm pulling hard for that to happen.

In the other league I'm down by 14. Opponent is done, I have Jamison Crowder. Not looking good, but there is still hope!

The second team is the one that has Cooks, who, of course, was sitting.

More than a decade of playing fantasy football and had my first true heartbreak tonight. Leading 114-111.1 on Washington's last drive, Jamison Crowder (who I have) fumbles on the second-to-last play of the game, Carolina's defense (who she has) recovers for a four point swing. I lose 113.1-112.5. No championship this year. Brutal. Just brutal.

Thank you, Kirk Cousins. I like that!

    Sorry, G. That sucks.

Gator. My condolences. That sucks a lot.

Ess Jay Dot Com, bring me home. 7-point favorite in the championship of my main league. My opponent is a doctor, so he doesn't need this as much. Help me.

8 spots are set: Brees, McCoy, Green (assuming he plays), Cooper, Cooks, Rudolph, Bailey, Chargers D. My RB2 spot is the issue, as it has been all year. Candidates are:

Crowell (should have the biggest role, but game script is a major issue)
    Forsett (a higher-floor, lower-ceiling Crowell)
Dixon (don't think I can trust his workload)
Lewis (honestly might be my lean, but Belichick)
Henry (don't think I can play him but he might wind up being the high scorer of the bunch)
Gillislee (guess he's droppable at this point)

EDIT: I suppose Dontrelle Inman (Wahoos!) is in play against the Browns. Dare I sit Cooper for him?

I completely forgot Dontrelle Inman played at UVa.

Then again, UVa football is completely forgettable.

Giants defense vs. PHI or ATL at CAR? I'm leaning NYG.

I would, too. Giants D is playing lights out these days.
