And Elliott isn't reliant on that offensive line? The one DeMarco Murray ran behind two years ago to lead the league in rushing? I bet you plug Alfred Morris in there and the Cowboys wouldn't miss a beat. You take Beckham off the Giants and they might as well punt on second down and hope for defensive turnovers.

I'm not sure if you guys are just using Beckham as an example of something or actually suggesting him for MVP, but he has had five games this year with 56 or fewer receiving yards, and then he had the big hissy fits. That's not really an MVP kind of season.

I agree, it's a similar argument. The difference is only one of perception and since QBs are the glory boys, if there's a WR having a transcendent season, the QB will usually get much of the credit. If an RB has a transcendent season, nobody is putting the left guard in the MVP discussion.

I thought about mentioning that in my original post, but decided not to for brevity's sake.

In this day and age, for a receiver to win it, they'd have to be better than Randy Moss was in 2007, or Calvin Johnson was in 2011, or Marvin Harrison was in 2002.

Three of the most dominating seasons ever and none of them won MVP.

I know they have Offensive MVP, but they need to clearly demarcate. How about a Skills Position MVP and then a QB MVP. Don't muddle the lines.

Be nice if they had similar things as college with the Nagurski and Outland trophies, the Ditka, Ray Guy, Biletnikoff, etc.

Any award (MVP) that has been given to a placekicker (Moseley) and several defenders but never to a wide receiver is obviously ill-conceived.

Hell, Moss didn't even get a vote on a team that was undefeated in the reg. season. Brady got all of them.

Ever since Cam Newton won the award its been devalued. Its like its 3/5th of the award it once was

  8. Brown is leading the league in receptions, but I think his stats are down.
If I was picking a WR for the MVP it would Jones. Hands down.

    MVP: Carr
    OROY: Elliott
    DROY: Bosa?
    OPOY: M. Ryan
DPOY: K. Mack, ... maybe Janoris Jenkins
    Coach of the Year: Belichick
    Comeback POY: L. Bell

If the Raiders go 13-3 it's Del Rio.

While Brady didn't play four games, Carr hasn't been needed for most of the games. Seven games with 1 or 0 TDs, 7 with under 250 yards passing, only four over 300. You want a QB? It's Brady because duh. It's Matt Ryan because he's the stat leader. It's Aaron Rodgers because the Packers might win five games without him. It's definitely not Derek Carr.

And I don't think Belichick is coach of the year. I mean, I think he is, but if Gase gets Miami to the playoffs he deserves it.

Del Rio is going to an almost unanimous COY. It's their first winning season in 14 years.

Ezekial Elliot has another MVP candidate on his team and the best line in the NFL. He is also very limited as a receiver and often comes off the field on third downs.

Great player, but not the MVP over Rodgers, Brady or Carr. He barely has more total yards from scrimmage than Bell in three more games.
