NHL game: Anaheim at Nashville, this April. Can't remember if it was Game 4 or 5 of first round. My first playoff game.
NFL game: Cleveland at Jacksonville, 12-08-02. Sucked just as much then as it would today, although less so from the press box.
College football game: Iron Bowl last month
College basketball game: UAB at Memphis, two days after the Griz game above.
Other college sporting event: Alabama baseball at UAB last March.
Concert: James Taylor in Atlanta, May 2012.
Theater performance that your children were not in: The Crucible, too many Octobers ago to remember. Some funky theatre group in Bham that staged plays upstairs in a downtown antique store.
Movie: Zootopia this spring with my daughter.
Wedding: This June, my second cousin, about 3-4 weeks after I went to another cousin's wedding.
High school sporting event: Regular season football in October. My son's middle school band got to play in the stands third quarter. I split when they did.
Olympics: Field hockey, gold and bronze medal games, 1996.
Political rally: Autumn 1999. Had to report on Phyllis Schafly coming to town to fight the push for an Alabama lottery. I was against it too and much more conservative then, but still thought she was a nutbag.
