When was the last time you went to a ___?

    MLB game: Indians hosting Tigers, 1997. Got in on a press pass, which I still have. (BTW, even though I live five minutes away from Great American Ballpark in Cincy, I've never been to a game at the park.)
    NBA game: Lakers at Cavs, to see Magic Johnson play one last time in person.
    NHL game: Never.
    NFL game: Oilers at Browns, wild card game. After Houston beat Cleveland, I was one of the hooligans who pelted Warren Moon with dog biscuits as he made his way off the field. Still regret it.
    MLS or other major soccer: Never.
    College football game: Too many University of Cincinnati games to count, but the last was in 2006.
    College basketball game: Same.
    Other college sporting event: Indiana at UC women's hoops, to see the daughter of a high school classmate play for the Hoosiers, 2008.
    Concert: Depeche Mode, 1996.
    Auto race: Never. And will never.
    Theater performance that your children were not in: Shakespeare troupe doing Midsummer's.
    Movie: Last summer, the Independence Day sequel, just to get out of the heat for a while.
    Wedding: cousin's wedding, when I was a kid.
    High school sporting event: Covering football and basketball locals last season.
    Olympics: Never
    Political rally: Two years ago, covering pro-gun nuts in Kentucky.
    New York City: Never.
    Foreign country: Canada, 1999.

    NBA game: Never
    NHL game: Never
    NFL game: Never
    MLS or other major soccer: Never
    College football game: As a fan ... Oct. 1992, Penn State at WVU ... Working: Marshall University circa 2005.
    College basketball game: As a fan: Never. Working ... circa 2005 WVU/Marshall Capital Classic.
    Other college sporting event: None
    Concert: ZZ Top and Kanas in Roanake circa 1998
    Auto race: Dirt Track in southern WV in 1992
    Theater performance that your children were not in: Book or Mormon, NYC, 2015
    Movie: Avengers Civil War
    Wedding: Don't remember
    High school sporting event: Working: 2006-07, as a fan: Kevin Pittsnogle-lef Martinsburg game at holiday tournament circa 2002
    Olympics: Never
    Political rally: Never
    New York City: 2015
    Foreign country: Dominican Republic 2015

    MLB game: 1994 Marlins game, the night of the O.J. Bronco chase. Car engine overheated on the way home, and I missed the whole damn thing.
    NBA game: Some Heat game in 1999
    NHL game: Some exhibition in Miami in 1992 before the area got a team.
    NFL game: 200o, Dolphins-Colts playoff game. Liquored-up kicker misses 49-yeard FG in OT, and Colts lose.
    MLS or other major soccer: Never
    College football game: 2007, Georgia at Tennessee.
    College basketball game: 2006, Tennessee Tech at Tennessee
    Other college sporting event: 1982, some track meet where Willie Gault leads Tennessee to world shuttle relay record.
    Concert: September, Carolina Pro Musica, the Music of Shakespeare
    Auto race: Never
    Theater performance that your children were not in: 2008, Nutcracker, Mariinsky Theatre, Saint Petersburg, Russia.
    Movie: 2009, Marley and Me.
    Wedding: 2012, niece.
    High school sporting event: 2007, hometown football team (Oak Ridge, Tenn.)
    Olympics: Never
    Political rally: Never.
    New York City: September 2012 for niece's wedding.
    Foreign country: 2010, Russia

    There is a disdain for auto racing here that I didn't expect. I'd go every week if I could. It's that fun.

    Yeah, but NYC is a quick flight, and can be done in a weekend.

    Can't you figure out how to do a work trip to New York, and stay over for the weekend?
