I think that point stands across the defense spectrum, @Vombatus. Strongest military adversary.

IMG_1119.JPG Am I crazy? Or is the GOP equating Trump, a twice-divorced man who says he doesn't need to confess his sins, with Jesus? Is it equating the presidency of the United States of America with a monarchy, the form of government we rejected in 1776? Or is this fake?

Christmas, and this statement, is all about Jesus.

You're trying to read into it something thst is not there.

It is a metaphor. Seriously we need to be selective in the outrage or 2020 is going to be 2004 reprised

    Think about that right there.

A nation pursuing its own agenda. Automatically a threat. As opposed to pursuing OUR agenda.

What else needs to be said about how the world feels about America?

The biggest threat to world peace and stability will reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. on Jan. 20.

That's pretty common evangelical language when describing baby Jesus. Besides, Trump doesn't do subtle.

Perhaps. But answer this one: Why is the GOP making a definitive declaration that "a new hope was born" and that person is the Saviour of the world? Isn't it telling Jews that their religion, which does not accept the notion that Jesus of Nazareth was and is the saviour of mankind, is wrong?
I also find it fascinating that the party that wants to gut health care is talking about concern for the poor.

Read closely. It says "a new hope was born into the world." It refers to this person as the "savior" of mankind. It does not say, "Christians believe that two millennia ago, a savior was born." It definitively discusses this as fact.

How would we describe the events celebrated by Hanukkah?

Well yeah, if you're a believer that's what you believe. And it isn't unusual to put it in present tense.

    Hark, the herald angels sing
    Glory to the newborn King

He's comparing Trump to Jesus. You good with that?
