    That says a newborn King, implying that it is newly born. Jesus eventually grew up.

    The GOP statement says a new king. Who is the new king? Or, is Jesus always considered to be a new king for the last 2016 (or so) years?

    On Christmas Day, it isn't at all unusual for Christians to refer to Jesus as a "new King" (and the capitalization is another giveaway.) If the language sounds a little stilted and weird, well, that's life in any earnest subculture.
