Oh, I'm sure screech radio would have been fine with such a Tweet in December, 2008.

I think that's what pisses me off worst. Pence's views are so extreme that he never could have gotten elected, and now he's going to be the defacto President. He's going to have a huge influence in filling the smaller positions that Trump does not know or care about. Start with a hundred seats on the federal bench that have gone vacant forever, and add all the assistant secretaries and various executive seats in the bureaucracy. Throw in Paul Ryan's economic plan.

A candidate with any clue would have ideas in mind, people with similar views to recruit. Trump does not even know the jobs exist, let alone what they do or who might be qualified to fill them.

That's why the dems need to block everything this administration tries to do. Including all judges, up to SCOTUS.

If only Harry Reid hasn't done away with the filibuster for non SCOTUS appointments.

Between that, "must pass" bills, and the reconciliation process, Republicans will get their appointments and agenda through.

They would have anyway. Not about to let an opportunity go to waste.

The problem for Republicans is they will now need to govern and satisfy the people who elected Trump. They will need to figure out a way to maintain healthcare coverage for 20 million people without an individual mandate, bring back unskilled manufacturing jobs that don't exist and explain how "build a wall" and "jail Hillary" somehow translate into give big tax breaks to the rich, cutting their constituents' social security and turning Medicare into a coupon program.

They are going to nuke the filibuster completely. There isn't going to be any debate or any hearings on any of this. Voice vote, bam boom.

Finding out that they don't have to have a shred of ideological coherence so long as their candidate shits on non-white people makes their job a lot easier

I don't think the three Wise Men made it that night. It was more around Inauguration Day.
