Don't mind A&W once in a while and while we don't have Long John Silver's up here I will assume that is a good thing after the post somebody made in the epic Worst Chain Restaurants thread of some years back noting that "for sheer culinary terror nothing matches Long John Silver's".

What's sad is about IHOP is that they seem to add about 500 unnecessary calories to everything they fix.

What's sad about Applebees is that people go there to get food they could grab from the freezer and fix in their microwave that would taste better at half the cost.

I tried LJS once. Never again. Never forget.

Fried food, at its best is crispy, crunchy goodness. It's a gift from god.

Whatever that soggy, greasy abomination was--I took one bite and threw the entire bag away.

    All under one umbrella.
Although nothing resembling these products is yum.

If only YUM! also owned Preparation H, Rolaids and Charmin.

Pizza Hut ... meh when warm. Whenever I reheat it, my stomach turns into a combustion engine. Probably the grease.

You know what I like about Applebees? If I want a steak cooked until it's crispy, they'll do it, no problem. None of that uppity snootiness you get at expensive places.

I honestly couldn't tell you if I've even been in an Applebees before.

I get the big chains -- Applebees, TGI Fridays, Ruby Tuesday, etc. -- mixed up all the time.

They're all the same, and I can't think of a single thing any of them does that's unique.

At least Bennigan's has the Monte Cristo.

Only Applebees I have seen in the Toronto area was about a 10-minute drive from my place, didn't last long, suffering the same fate as the only Chili's I saw up here. We have enough crappy, homegrown restaurants like Applebees,we don't need to import them.

They're probably thrilled to comply. Cuts down the E. coli probability by 73 percent.

I went to an Applebee's a few weeks ago with some folks from work, and they've apparently redone their menu, because it wasn't gut-wrenching. That, or I was as hungry as Survivorman when he eats a grub on day four.

I like Applebees because I can count on what I'm getting and it is usually good. Not high end good, but I know that going in. I'm not picky I just want something that isn't terrible and not going to set me back too bad.
