  3. The Finale?
    Really?

Love that show. LOVED it. But the Finale. Shit, the final season was forced: The showdown with Boyd.
The only thing I liked about the finale was the follow up with Ava.

The Newsroom finale was really well done.

Star Trek TNG had a great one too with All Good Things.

And it wasn't the best of episodes but the final minutes of House I thought was perfect.

The last scene/last line of that show is one of the best closers I've ever seen. I don't even really remember exactly what led up to that and what other stories were going on that season but......'We dug coal together' alone makes it an all-timer for finales.

I can't think of a good one, honestly.

In the MASH finale Alda over-acted beyond belief. I'm a MASH fan, but did not like the finale.

Some finales that I liked alot:
    Cheers
    Star Trek Next Generation
    Sopranos
    The Shield

You just summed up the entire last six or seven seasons of the series.

Good call, as were Star Trek: The Next Generation, Newhart and The Newsroom.

I also thought the West Wing ended well.

I'm still torn on Battlestar Galactica's finale, which had some great moments. I really do go back and forth in deciding whether I liked how it was tied together in the final moments or not.

The "West Wing" ending really didn't feel like much of an ending; it was clear the Santos administration was going to be in large part a continuation of the Bartlet regime. And even the election nemesis Vinick was climbing on board to join forces.

Plus the flash- forward sequence made it pretty clear everybody was going to live "happily ever after" for the foreseeable future.

Maybe they should do a one-off sequel where Santos is succeeded by a lunatic buffoonish reality-teevee clown who vows to dismantle everything Bartlet/Santos did.

Don't laugh, but for a sitcom, the Cougar Town finale was phenomenal and endearing.
