I thought she had run for a couple of other races, but I guess she was just mentioned as a possible candidate.

I still don't see her going anywhere.

She beat Joe Walsh, a blowhard (and current radio talk show host), who only won his election because of the 2010 republican wave, and then won her Senate seat by beating Mark Kirk, a nobody, who also only won his seat because of the 2010 wave, and the Rod Blagojevich hangover.

 

I remember similar arguments about Obama

 

As Dick pointed out, Obama's convention speech set him up to run for higher office. He was on the radar of every Democrat office holder and activist as someone with the charisma and rhetorical skills to win the presidency.

Duckworth has spoken at three democratic national conventions. She's left all three with no such buzz.
