Meh, the Ruskies were simply trying to snake a few RECs without paying. Hot commodity those RECs.

The gap in knowledge between what hackers can do and what the mainstream media believe is starting to remind me of this:

Are we even sure he's on a golf course there? Looks like they told him it was, and then he played three holes on the back 40 of some wilderness area before realizing his playing partners ditched him and drove off with the cart.

That's why part of me is wondering if all this fuss will, in the end, be revealed as a generic Russian identity theft ring trying to steal social security numbers.

Nah, the Wikileaks stuff was pretty clearly coordinated. But so fucking what? It was a propaganda campaign backed by some light hacking. We knew it was happening and enough of the right people voted him anyway, so we're getting the government we deserve.

The thing with the Wikileaks stuff, though, is that it wasn't propaganda even if that was the intent or the end result. It was all true. The Democrats have never denied any of it -- all they've done is blame the Russians for releasing it while trying to do damage control and spin -- and some big heads even rolled over it.
On top of that, the most damning stuff showed THEM actually engaging in the manipulation of an election by pushing Hillary through the primaries and drafting a vicious smear campaign against Sanders.
So they're complaining and ready to start a war over the same things they were doing inside their own house. Had Hillary won, I doubt they'd be making a big issue out of this. I understand why I should be outraged. It's just hard for me to get behind it when the outrage is a thinly-veiled case of sour grapes.

Trump is shortening inaguration ceremonies and you'll never believe why!

Gonna disagree a little. The shit about Sanders was barely anything. Some people who work in politics had political opinions and talked shit about people? Scandal!

It just irritated the incredibly raw nerve Clinton's nomination was for a lot of the party.

Do you still think Obama is going to seize a third term in a bloodless (hopefully) coup?

I never said that was what I thought would happen. I even went as far as to say I was putting on my tinfoil hat, thus acknowledging that it sounds loony tunes.
I said there were some troubling signs (which have not abated over the past week or two) that made me think something screwy was going on -- an effort to delegitimize the election the president-elect; a last-minute flurry of supposedly irreversible executive orders that seem to set major tones in American policy; and now the ramping-up of tension with Russia.
These are not actions we typically see from lame-duck presidents during the transition, so is it just an activist president trying to preserve his legacy or something else?

Maybe in the next two weeks something is "discovered in an investigation" or there's an incident in Syria that raises tension with Russia to actual hostilities. After that, it's a leap to some sort of emergency declaration declaring the election null and void, based on the perceived effect of the hacking and fraud and "for the good of the country" as Obama maintains the presidency until it can all be sorted out.
The scary thing is, there is such hatred for Trump on the left that a good portion of the country would applaud it.
All I know is, I'll breathe a lot easier if Donald Trump is president on Jan. 21 and it's what passes for business as usual these days.

I bet Art Bell or George Nouri would take me seriously.
