People are weird in the way they need to tear people down -- particularly women athletes. The hyperbole here is just odd.

Ronda Rousey was unbeatable. Now she's not. People can act like it's racist that she got so much hype -- yes, she's white and cleans up pretty well -- but you kind of have to acknowledge that she destroyed everyone she faced for years. I don't give a shit about UFC, and I don't know how much of her success was lack of competition in a fledgling sport, but she was absolutely dominant.

Danica Patrick was a pretty good IndyCar driver and is now a mediocre NASCAR driver. That puts her in pretty good company. People have been shitting all over her for years, but it's not like she's a failure. She's a middle of the pack driver, which was always her billing among anyone who knew anything about racing. Yeah, she gets a lot of publicity because she's a woman. Not really a great reason to rip her endlessly.

Anna Kournikova... well, yeah, she's hot and she sucked.

Rousey made UFC a lot of money. She got paid big-time. Even White admitted she deserved it.

She lost, but I don't see her as a loser.

Her actions over the past few months, including after last night's loss, prove otherwise @Elliotte Friedman .

I will confess that I'm a purely casual observer, so I would concede this point to you.

From a superficial standpoint, that's how I see it.

I've been pondering how to make her a believable villain and decided that she should endorse Trump and come to the Inauguration.

If rousey were to join wwe, her heel approach would be as an ultra feminist and have Lena Dunham as her manager.

To be really fair, she played on the same side of the court with Martina Hingis, who won those doubles titles.

Pam Shriver (with Martina Navratilova) and Peter Fleming (with John McEnroe) won a lot of doubles titles, too.
