He should go back to coaching in the AFC South. One gig is open. Could be two. No real pressure until that January when you're the 4-seed and expected to lose.

 

Jed is incapable of talking to anyone who isn't beholden to him.

 

The Broncos are welcome to have John Fox back if they are so inclined.

Like they did in 2014 after Harbaugh went 8-8. Like they did in 2015 when Tomsula went 5-11. Now they're 2-13 about to be 2-14 and likely to be on their fourth coach in as many years and it is a good idea to re-set? This (among other dumb assery) is why Baalke is out of a job. Good riddance.

 

The 49ers are paying Tomsula $3.5M this year and next, and if Kelly doesn't go somewhere else next year they would owe him around $6M. (It's complicated because the Eagles still have some offset stake in the thing and there's some question about who pays what.)

But that $9.5M to two guys not to coach is, I'm pretty sure, more than any team is paying anyone to actually coach.

I hope Kelly goes to some place at a low low cut rate and sticks the Yorks with the bill, as Dennis Erickson did at Idaho where he took $200,000 while the 49ers paid him $2.3M.
