Chicago police are questioning persons of interest after a Facebook Live video surfaced showing a group of people beating and cutting a man who appeared bound and gagged as they shouted “F--- Donald Trump.”
    ...
Authorities said the video, which shows a group of black men and women kicking, cutting and slapping a white man, who at one point appears to be bound and gagged, is credible. The video was posted around 2 p.m. Tuesday and had been seen more than 62,000 times before it was removed from Facebook.

In the footage, some in the group can be heard saying "F--- Donald Trump" and "F--- white people."

Four people were in custody and being interrogated Wednesday evening, authorities said. Police are expected to give an update at 6:15 p.m. on the case.

You might be thinking about a previous Ford announcement.

Yesterday they announced they are cancelling plans to build a new factory in Mexico, and to reinvest in Michigan:

In a stunning reversal, Ford Motor, the nation’s second-largest automaker, said on Tuesday that it would scrap plans to build a small-car assembly plant in Mexico that Mr. Trump has repeatedly criticized.

Just a few hours earlier, Mr. Trump threatened to impose tariffs on cars made in Mexico by General Motors, the nation’s largest automaker. His message forced the company to defend itself.

Both developments indicate how Mr. Trump is having an enormous impact on how American car companies run their operations, even before he takes office. They also illustrate that one of Mr. Trump’s particular points of criticism, manufacturing in Mexico, has become particularly sensitive.

But the moves raise questions about how competitive the country’s auto industry can be if its manufacturing options shrink in Mexico, and what the implications will be for consumers. For now, at least, some executives are praising Mr. Trump’s economic plans.

“We are encouraged by the pro-growth plans that President-elect Trump and the new Congress indicate they will pursue,” Mark Fields, Ford’s chief executive, said at an event on Tuesday.

The decision by Ford to drop plans for a new plant in Mexico — what would have been a $1.6 billion investment — came at the same time the company announced it would add 700 jobs to build electric and hybrid vehicles at a plant in Flat Rock, Mich.

The new Mexican factory was to build Ford Focus sedans currently manufactured at another Michigan plant near Detroit. Now the company will build those cars at an existing plant in Mexico.

And from NPR, who spoke with Ford's CEO:

GLINTON: That was in the summer. Ford and its CEO, Mark Fields, have repeatedly gotten into verbal sparring matches with the president-elect. In an interview today with NPR, Fields says business was the main factor in his decision making.

MARK FIELDS: Well, the main reason that we're canceling our $1.6 billion new plant in Mexico is essentially because we've seen market demand here in North America for small cars drop off pretty significantly.

GLINTON: I mean you've been essentially president-elect Donald Trump's whipping boy for quite some time, and it looks like politics to a casual observer.

FIELDS: Well, it could look like that to a casual observer, but at the end of the day, you know, we have to do what's right for our business. We have to answer to our shareholders.

GLINTON: Instead of building a new plant in Mexico, Fields says Ford will invest in facilities in Michigan, adding about 700 jobs. When asked to quantify how big of a role the president-elect's tweeting and cajoling went into the decision, Fields couldn't give a percentage.

FIELDS: Clearly it was a factor. You know, we have a president-elect who said very clearly he wants to create a more positive business environment for manufacturing here in the U.S., wants to create pro-growth policies, and those things matter.

The CEO of Ford is making nice. Ford is siting in the US because it wants to be closer to the engineers who are in electric car development. Plus, they already have plants in Mexico. Most auto companies do. There are a lot of cars sold there.
In other news, Wall Street Journal reporting Trump plans to reorganize and downsize the CIA because he's mad at its "politicized" intelligence. That'll go well.

Oh, forget it. No point in arguing with YF. BTW, wasn't today supposed to be when Trump told us why it wasn't Russia that hacked the DNC?

The Ford CEO said that the business climate they "are encouraged by the pro-growth plans that President-elect Trump and the new Congress indicate they will pursue" and that Trump's tweets and cajoling were "a factor" in the decision.

He said, "we have a president-elect who said very clearly he wants to create a more positive business environment for manufacturing here in the U.S., wants to create pro-growth policies, and those things matter."

But, I'm supposed to believe Trump had nothing to do with it?

Like Trump had nothing to do with Congress dropping (the timing of) its plan to "gut" the Office of Congressional Ethics.

I guess this is how it's going to go. No matter what successes we have, Trump will get no credit.

And then he'll get reelected in 2020, and none of you will understand why. Again.

The CIA? No. They don't sound politicized at all:
