Apparently. I mean, a couple of weeks off for holiday specials, maybe a rerun or two, but March? Obviously, want to have the grand finale for the year in May sweeps, but how much audience do you lose between then and now?

No crap. Lost really kickstarted this "Winter Finale" crap and it's getting obnoxious.

This is pretty much the entire reason I don't care about cliffhangers anymore.

Getting duped by LOST into thinking it would all go somewhere is pretty embarrassing in retrospect.

I don't mind the "winter finale" stuff so much, since I usually am so busy with crap in December that the chances of me watching a show live are pretty slim. But as the others have mentioned, shit, it seems like shows come back from break later and later each year. They all have less episodes now, but still seem to end in April or May, so you just have this kind of sprawlllll.

Just finished the first half of Designated Survivor.

Episode 10 was pretty damn good, though I tend to hate cliff-hanger endings like that.

The Mick was promising, at least for a pilot that spoiled its best line in the previews.

The spreading out of the live season was, to me, an SNL thing. That's the first place where it got really irritating, when they'd start showing repeats a month into the new season.

Just binged Person of Interest, five seasons. Not sure if there's been much discussion ever of it on here as I could see it easily getting lost among all the other shows. But I loved it, from the person-of-a-week procedural aspect to the big picture themes and stories it tackled. And all of the characters were so well-written and had great performances, from the main guys Emerson and Caviezel to all the supporting characters who took on bigger roles as it progressed.Wished it would have been able to get a few more seasons.

Old New Yorker story on the show:

They at least had the justified reason though that they're putting out 60ish minute of live, (somewhat) topical content a week. I might be mistaken, but I think they've tried to increase the rest for that show specifically to avoid some of the ridiculous production schedule shenanigans (and astronomical cocaine usage) they had in the 1970s. It's seemingly spread to everything else though, even scripted drama and comedy.

I'm curious if anyone besides me has watched the first couple (premiere) nights of "The Wall," the new game show created by LeBron James?

I really like it. It's a game-type show, but, wow, it could give participants a heart attack, in all the rooting, and all the ups and downs along the way to, hopefully, possibly, the winning of millions of dollars. :)

I know you have to strike when you can in entertainment, bu Chris Hardwick needs to dial it back.

They messed up the concept. At least one chute should have a tribute to game shows of the past. If the ball goes in there, the contestant has to eat bugs or do a cannonball into a pool of pudding.
