All "politically appointed" ambassadors. Career doplomats will remain in place, and the career diplomats will run our embassies in place of the departed political appointees.

The whole issue revolves around the hardships involved in finding housing for Obama bundlers who want to stay in country until the school year ends.

I'm supposed to be upset that millionaire political donors will have to rent a house/apartment?

Don't forget how insensitive Trump is being to the ambassador to Costa Rica!

A little skepticism in 1953 (Iran coup) or 1961 (Bay of Pigs) or 1979-89 (funding the mujahideen) or 2002 (WMDs in Iraq) would have been a damn nice idea . . . since these fuckers get so much wrong all the time.

Next election cycle might be a Democratic bloodbath. More seats vulnerable than at any time in the past 50 years.

You're missing the point. To this write this off as "they just need to go to church" is what the smug person would do.

And the Czech Ambassador certainly can't go back to Chicago if his children's private school won't re-admit them mid-year. What are they supposed to do, go to public school for a couple of months?

We need schools to supplement religious education because otherwise the special snowflake Christians will feel oppressed?

Interesting that you use the word "plundering" in reference to two social programs that are strictly pass-through/pay-as-you-go. The $20,000 or so a year I pay a year "into" those programs goes straight into the pockets of one or more claimants. Doing away with those programs would be ill-advised, but it wouldn't be plundering.

Yeah, that was a grumpy post. Paul Ryan's plan's treatment of those pisses me off, and at least thus far he looks to be the Trump congressional budget guru. I kinda eyeballed that word and then said "oh, screw it" and left it in. Ill advised indeed, both in terms of the people who depend on those programs and the Republicans popularity if they cut Granny's Medicare.

Ha, I guess you could say that. Another way of putting it is that Paul Ryan and Mike Pence are co-presidents, with the Tweeter in Chief busy monitoring television ratings.
