Going back to a point I have made many times on this board, expertise is meaningless if you can't trust the person who has it. I am absolutely sure the Dolphins' medical staff knows a hell of a lot more about evaluating concussions and about Moore's condition at that time than I do. I question whether they took the necessary time to do a thorough evaluation when the team needed its quarterback on the field.

I do believe things have gotten better since the protocol was put in place, but I still don't think teams are protective enough of players who might have concussions. Moore took a brutal hit to the head and took a long time to get up. Apparently, he was complaining about his back, but that doesn't mean you don't put him through a full evaluation.

I was a little concerned to see Cockrell return to the game as well, but at least in that case the team had the last few minutes of the half and all of halftime to evaluate his condition.

I agree that the safeties have to do a better job, but it was Apple who was covering Cobb and simply left him to find the ball.

But now Peyton will have someone to watch the games with the rest of the season.

The net got him, but he TKO'd the wall.

I know it is going to be the talk of the next two days, but those were both really difficult balls. And it's hard for me to buy that hanging out with friends five days ago caused him to "drop" them.

Not great timing for your worst game of the season, though.

He had some bad ones early this year, too. But your point is well taken. I guess the argument is that their routine was out of whack after that, and that's fair, but the week-long sports radio orgasm is quite likely to be, um, a bit out of proportion.

I'm a Packers fan and I absolutely did not see that game coming. I thought that depleted secondary would get torched by Beckham and Co. And for the first quarter or so, I thought I was right, but the Giants didn't capitalize on the opportunities early on, and in the second half, the Packers basically stopped respecting the run entirely. On the offensive end, Rodgers is just red-hot right now. There have been a few times early on where I wish he would step up or pull it down and just try to get back to the line of scrimmage. Based on what he told Andrews postgame, he clearly had put an emphasis on not making a negative play worse. I mean, from the 4-minute mark of the second quarter on, they beat a good team 38-7.

Now they play the Cowboys on my birthday, which reminds me of several birthday parties ruined by Aikman, Irvin and the like as a kid.

Only the fourth time since the playoffs expanded to the current format in 1990-91 that all four home teams won on wild-card weekend: 2016-17, 2011-12, 2006-07, 2000-01.
