I like the people who point out that Trump was too dumb to realize the room was bugged, but don't see a problem with the fact that Obama stayed in the same room previously.

YF, That would be a sensible response if the choice to stay in the room was what those people were criticizing, but it is not. What they are criticizing is what Trump may have done in the room.

 

They look like well adjusted folks.

I think the point is (and understand I think the story is fake) isn't just that Trump stayed in the room, but that he engaged in behavior that would be susceptible to blackmail, whereas Obama probably watched the Bulls game.

 

If the POTUS stays there?

Would be a huge failure for the Secret Service.

Of course any room would be bugged. It's part of the game. Secret Service has means to deal with that while they're there. I'm sure we do it to visiting dignitaries, too, though probably not as pervasively as the Russians.
