He better hit the weights or he's going to be the funny part of a meme comparing him to last night's ref.

In today's episode of hot garbage, this writer, apparently trying to make a name for herself, uses a woman named Susan Pease and "at least six other friends" to come to the conclusion that their ties to Donald Trump has damaged the Patriots. No, seriously. The best line, "It’s hard to have a conversation about the Patriots without talking about Trump anymore." Baseless.

When talk radio in Boston came calling, asking her to come on air and defend the piece, she wanted nothing to do with it. Head right back in the turtle shell. If you are going to attempt to write a story like this, provide some kind of evidence: Ticket sales, merchandise sales, TV ratings. Otherwise, you're just making things up.

The Patriots have a Trump problem

I dislike Trump as much as anybody and I think Brady is a dolt for supporting him, but Trump has only come up once in any conversation I've ever had about the Patriots. Christ, I talk about sports to get away from that shit.

Jesus, fuck. Brady supported Trump because he's a fellow celebrity on the pro-am circuit. Period. For the record, Bob Kraft has supported pols of both parties. His late wife Myra was a serious wheel in the Mass. Democratic party. IMO sports celebs have the right to their opinions, and their opinions count for exactly as much as my own -- almost nothing.

I think anybody who supports Trump is a dolt. Brady is no exception because he throws the football real good.

Why would anybody ever go on Boston sports talk radio?

Steelers notebook: Dupree to appeal league fine for hit on QB Moore

The NFL fined Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree $18,231 for his big hit on Matt Moore this past Sunday. Dupree is appealing. I get the penalty. Dupree did make contact to Moore's jaw with the top of his helmet, but it sure looked like he hit Moore in the chest and slid up due to his momentum. That he now has a first offense on his record may be a bigger deal than the fine.

Just curious, how does the league come up with a fine of $18,231? Is that extra dollar supposed to be a deterrent?

I believe there is a set scale which takes the number of offenses and the player's contract into account.

I figured there was some sort of reason, instead of someone in the league office just randomly picking a number. Just struck me as funny to have that extra dollar in there.
