Wondering why those benighted flyover types continue to not "vote their interests" is the height of sophistication. Wondering why urban blacks continue to vote almost exclusively Democratic is "as racist as it gets."

Hmmmmmm ... there seems to be some underlying theme there.

There's been no end of examination of Trump voters and their motivations both before and after the election. Most of their self-stated reasons were 1. Desire for "change." 2. Social anxieties. 3. Belief that a wealthy businessman must be able to generate overall prosperity. I may think they will be very disappointed, but I know where they're coming from. Black voters seldom if ever get that kind of analysis in print or on TV.

Didn't somebody here propose Trump understood symbolism? Yeah, about that ...

    Probably best for all parties.

True, that place has been super crowded with advance ticket purchases for entries at particular times. Only recently have they allowed a few tickets to be available on the "day of" (same day purchase / entry).

I would not be surprised to learn that the Museum requested this change to avoid chaos.

For any threatened group you care to name, if they could guarantee four years of benign neglect from Trump I bet they'd take the deal.

They should be used to that after decades of voting for Democrats.

Pretty sad to think that's the bar we want the next president to clear -- leave us alone and do nothing.

That's pretty much SOP for the losing side, though.

Dems to Bush: DON'T start unnecessary wars, DON'T privatize Social Security, DON'T fuck with our liberties with the Patriot Act.
GOP to Obama: DON'T get the government involved with our health care, DON'T raise taxes, DON'T allow gays to marry.
Dems to Trump: DON'T engage with Russia, DON'T kill Medicare, DON'T repeal the ACA.

The losing side is full of don'ts for the incoming president. They just want to tread water until their side wins again.

No one wants "Don't engage with Russia". That is inevitable and necessary. Try "Don't roll over throw the country's legs in the air for Russia".
